Greenway paves way for connection between CommonWell and Carequality
The collaboration between CommonWell Health Alliance and Carequality to advance health IT interoperability has entered its next phase.
CommonWell has made the CommonWell-Carequality Connection generally available to its members. This means they will be able to offer the connection to practices, enabling the bilateral exchange of health data to improve care coordination and delivery. Greenway is working to begin an implementation plan in the coming months.
“This increased connectivity will serve to empower providers with access to patient health data critical to their health care decision-making,” CommonWell Health Alliance Executive Director Jitin Asnaani said in a press release.
It’s a breakthrough moment for Greenway, one of seven founding members of the Alliance, as well as a participant in a “focused rollout” leading up to the announcement.
For customers, the rollout represents a “win-win” for all involved.
“Now that we’re able to get patient information across disparate providers through the CommonWell-Carequality Connection, I think it will reduce hospital readmissions, By knowing what was done on the other end, we aren’t duplicating work in labs and referrals and patients don’t have to spend lots of time and money outside of the clinic. It’s a win-win for the patient, the organization and the hospitals.”
