BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, Feb. 21, 2013 — SuccessEHS, a leading health information technology vendor, today announced that its electronic health record (EHR) solution can send production encounter Continuity of Care Documents (CCD) through the MyHealth Access Network health information exchange (HIE) in northeastern Oklahoma.

MyHealth Access Network enables participating providers to access a portal that displays a community-wide snapshot of patients’ previous treatments, medications, allergies, immunizations, procedures and lab results. Providers can then drill into patient data to access both structured data and clinical documents, such as care summaries.

The connection with MyHealth allows SuccessEHS clients and their patients to benefit from advanced HIE. Health information exchanges allow providers to make more informed clinical decisions and reduce duplication and errors. As a result, HIEs promote more coordinated care and generate time and cost savings due to the reduction of duplicative or unnecessary tests, medical visits, paperwork and treatment delays. Health information exchange is a cornerstone of numerous health reform initiatives, including the EHR Incentive Programs.

“This collaboration with SuccessEHS proved the viability of transporting a standard set of clinical data from an EHR to a health information network like MyHealth,” said David Kendrick , MD, CEO of MyHealth Access Network.

“The data from SuccessEHS enables MyHealth to deliver community-wide views of patient data to health care providers and also feeds into MyHealth’s advanced analytics platform that produces quality reports and facilitates coordination of patient care. We congratulate SuccessEHS for the effort they put into this project and welcome other EHR vendors who can do the same.”
David Kendrick, MD, CEO MyHealth Access Network

A program of the Greater Tulsa Health Access Network, MyHealth is one of 17 national sites receiving a three-year federal Beacon Community Award from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).

SuccessEHS also works extensively with another ONC Beacon community, the Crescent City Beacon Community (CCBC) in New Orleans, La. The CCBC was recently honored as a co-second place winner of the 2013 Healthcare Informatics Innovator Awards for their work.
