By replacing an antiquated, ineffective system with leading technology, the clinic can focus on better patient and practice outcomes.

TAMPA, Florida, July 18, 2017 — Greenway Health, a leading health information technology and services provider, today announced that an Oregon Indian Health Service clinic has selected Greenway’s practice management and electronic health record technology to replace a current widely used but archaic system, enabling providers to deliver better care to its community.

After vetting hundreds of vendors, Cow Creek Health & Wellness Center chose Greenway Intergy to replace the government-provided Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS).

Intergy is tailored specifically for Tribal Health communities to ensure they can electronically document every aspect of patient care, interoperate with other systems, and report patient data to the federal government.

Cow Creek leaders also chose Greenway Revenue Services, which measurably improves the billing and payment collection processes; Greenway Care Coordination Services, which helps providers manage chronic care patients; and Greenway Community, a tool that helps providers manage chronic care patients.

“Greenway separated itself from the pack immediately. We knew we were dealing with a different kind of partner. Their team was very knowledgeable and experienced. This was a big undertaking for us, but we knew we could trust them.”
Dennis Eberhardt, executive clinic director, Cow Creek

Located in rural central Oregon, the 10-provider practice has for years faced healthcare challenges typical of many tribal communities across the country. Most Tribal Health practices have long used the RPMS system. But the needs of community populations have outgrown the system’s capabilities, resulting in great inefficiencies and a dire lack of easy or accurate reporting.

“For over 25 years, Greenway has recognized the unique challenges tribal clinics face taking good care of their communities. Communities like Cow Creek deserve a system that is superior in functionality and usability. We are committed to forging consultative relationships with our customers, so we can best tailor the healthcare technology needed by Tribal Health communities to best care for their populations.”
Scott Zimmerman, CEO, Greenway Health

Cow Creek started researching hundreds of potential vendors, quickly narrowing down that list based on functionality. From there, Greenway’s technology stood out.

Sharon Stanphill, Health and Wellness Director at Cow Creek, said, “I’ve worked with three different tribes and spoken with many others, and each has unique needs that (their current system) can’t meet. It just isn’t a good tool for patient care or for business.”

“Our system was so dysfunctional that our staff was having to create manual workarounds to get things done,” Eberhardt added.

Greenway Revenue Services was added to replace Cow Creek’s current billing practices and workarounds, especially solving for the lack of transparency around working denials and the high number of days in accounts receivable.

“Our staff was very aligned in their desire for something new — something that would better fit their needs,” Eberhardt said.
