At Greenway, our leadership strategy is founded on the knowledge that shaping the future of healthcare involves creating best-practice technology in accord with industry, regulatory and corporate initiatives to improve population health.

Greenway provides guidance and testimony to Congressional bodies and presidential administrations, and members of our leadership serve in a strategic advisory capacity with the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and the Office of Civil Rights (OCR).

Greenway leadership in government affairs

  • Foster education in healthcare IT and the impact of Government Affairs on healthcare reform
  • Work with the Executive branch and Congress to improve physician fee schedules and reimbursement rates
  • Further state and federal legislation and regulations that create incentives for health IT and electronic health record (EHR) adoption
  • Advise Congressional offices on healthcare, health IT and related legislation
  • Advise Congress on healthcare reform and America’s healthcare transformation
  • Advise President’s administration on healthcare, IT and related regulations, including necessary Stark/safe harbor modifications
  • Advise and work with the ONC and CMS on the implementation of HITECH Act, ARRA and Affordable Care Act health IT incentives and adoption. Support ongoing certification standards for Meaningful Use reporting criteria
  • Promote security, privacy and compliance policy advancements through National Governors Association (NGA), Health Information Security and Privacy Collaboration (HISPC) and American Health Information Community (AHIC)
  • Encourage federal leadership to maintain a true, 50/50, public-private collaboration on all HIT Boards created under or by HHS.

Shaping the future of healthcare

The Greenway Leadership Team holds chair, co-chair, board and/or advisory positions within multiple industry organizations, including:

  • Carequality (founding member), interoperability collaborative combining provider groups, HIEs, payers and multi-network platforms to pursue national health information exchange
  • Healtheway, Inc. (first ambulatory HIT provider to join Healtheway), a public-private collaborative promoting health information interoperability
  • CommonWell Health Alliance (founding member), an independent, not-for-profit trade association launched in March 2013 to transform care delivery around seamless and standard patient matching and records location
  • The Accountable Care Community of Practice (ACCoP)
  • The National HIMSS Electronic Health Records Association (EHR Association)
  • The eHealth Initiative (EHI)
  • Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) board, a global interoperability standards initiative
